Compromis de Vendre
I recently saw a couple who were planning on retiring to live in the Dordogne in France.
They had found a property and needed to sign a Compromis de Vendre. Due to work commitments the wife was not able to travel to France to sign the documents. The French lawyer had sent them a Compromis de Vendre to sign before a notary public.
I saw them and witnessed the wife’s signature giving her husband power to sign all documents relating to the purchase of the property on her behalf to enable the purchase to proceed smoothly in France.
