A Couple getting Married in Italy
A couple came to see me with their young baby as they were planning to marry in Italy. They had downloaded a form from the UK government website, which is in dual language English and Italian.
This form records their names, address details, and passport details as well as the details of their parents and whether they had been previously married or were single. They completed the details on the form but did not sign or date it until they came to see me. I checked their details from their passports and went through all the questions on the form with them, they then signed the forms and made statutory declarations before me ( a special form of words that means that if the details on the form were incorrect then they would be committing perjury). It is usually necessary to provide this document to the authorities no more than three months prior to the date of the wedding, in order that they are reasonably current and not out of date by the time of the wedding.
